Austin Race - a review The rain sucked - but nothing you can about it, right?

The course was poorly planned out - as it was one repeat after another.

Good time? Sure, it was fun. The first thing out of the box was GREAT! Place hoods on one team member and drop them a few miles away from their destination....(um, was that the best neighborhood to drop people?) - still, it was GREAT! I thought "here we go..this is going to rock!"....and then we got back to the T.A and you just knew it was time to get on the bike...okay, that was decent - getting the rocks was kind of lame but a fun ride overall, truly.

But doing the same thing over and over again was a complete drag. Run, Bike, Run, Bike, Run, Bike --- Oh and how about you educate your volunteers on what to say - and how to help!!! The rowing dock event was a disaster...the old guy on the east side(?) of the lake had NO IDEA what to tell us. We were on the wrong side of the lake, or maybe we weren't..he didn't know!

I hate being negative and this was my first race - but I saw so much potential! More scavenger kind of stuff and less "haul ass up Congress Street to pick up a rock" kind of thing. Fewer events and more creativity - that's my vote. It's Austin - MAKE IT WEIRD!! The oyster drop was wonderful...gross if it hit the ground...but wonderful!

Lastly, the pre game food was great! The fruit and protein bars were wonderful. I did not eat the end of the race - the BBQ did not look good and I was very, very tired.

RE:Austin Race - a review Sorry for the typos.....still kind of tired.

I do have one other thing to say. I get more and more upset over this race as I watch the highlights from the other races. Rock climbing, shopping, fish tossing, public transportation events, frisbee, REAL eating competition kind of events....

where was this stuff in Austin?!?!?

I think that I have changed my mind. Austin was a huge disappointment. What a great city to have this kind of event....what a complete let down.
