seattle oyster / september 21, 2008
First things first... What is this race?  The Oyster is the coolest race you will ever do.  It is billed as the Ultimate Urban Adventure Race for its uncanny ability to provide pure athleticism with thought-provoking strategy.  The race is kept a secret until the start of the race.  All you know is you and your 3- or 6-person team will run-bike-scoot/skate-trek-climb-paddle (and other crazy stuff) your away around the host city doing amazing things and performing some creative stunts. OK, so you are now intrigued... Check out the Race Packet for all the details. Or, see our FAQs.

The Seattle Oyster probably has the most well-rounded athletic disciplines of any of our host cities. Racers can be sure that every imaginable mode of transportation is in “play”. From Mountains to Sound, Seattle will prove to be a wonderful playground for The Oyster.

The Seattle Oyster benefits the Arthritis Foundation.

There are three race options for our teams: The Oyster (traditional course with men’s, women’s and co-ed divisions), 6 Pack (the traditional course, but designed for 6-person teams like corporations or team building exercises. Three people are on the course
at any given time while three rest, rehydrate and strategize) and the Family Fun Division (a shorter course consisting of 3-4 legs and 10-15 miles) .

With a variety of divisions, unique setting, various athletic modes and some brain teasers, The Oyster is perfectly positioned to please elite athletes to weekend warriors.
