GREAT Nashville race!!
This race in Nashville was the first ever for me and my teammates. We enjoyed it immensely, even down to the swimming in cold river water and the calf cramps on the last leg. It was so great crossing the finish line holding hands united as one TEAM!!!!
The pre-race food provided was excellent. Great selection of food, and coffee to stay warm. Even enough clif bars to pack for later in the day (thank goodness!!!). We got hungry about 4 hours into the race, and those saved us!
We came in from out of town and I thought the race was on an even playing field for those teams from Nashville, and those of us from other cities. The trivia was the hardest part, and that took us a good 15 minutes to finish and decode the clue for the next leg.
Great prizes and sense of community in the post race awards and giveaways. I loved it!!
The only feedback I had is in regards to fundraising and getting "clues" ahead of time. I thought this was an extremely unfair advantage. I understand the incentive to raise more money (which is for a great cause - I loved the Nashville Greenway and riding along it!), but the ability to gain 30 minutes with one clue alone really hurt! I would suggest maybe only giving part of a clue, or something that only gives you a 5-10 minute lead time on a leg of the race.
Overall, I loved it. Especially the creative way to start the race ;) My adrenaline was pumping, seriously, for 5 hours straight. I loved the physically demanding aspect of the race, running and biking. You said to be prepared and wow what a workout it was.
The volunteer were amazing, I just wanted to send a BIG thank you to all of them. They were ready for us and I know the event couldn't have been successful without all the volunteers.
Thank you!!!!

RE:GREAT Nashville race!!
I ditto everything that was said above. What an amazing day and race! I am looking forward to next year's event for sure.
After reading through some other posts I actually expected the physicality of it and really hope that doesn't change in races to come. I thoroughly enjoyed the fact that I was able to get an intense workout out but enjoy every second of it. The adrenaline was incredible and the excitement didn't stop until we crossed the finish line.
Thank you Team Sage, Merrell and all of the other sponsors for such a great experience!

RE:GREAT Nashville race!!
The race was awesome! It was tough but it was fun. In regards to the clues giving too much of an advantage, I disagree. With a three person team it took us 2 mnths to raise 1200.00. After all of the work that we had put into it we deserved some small reward. We didn't even get any bbq, at least we got a clue to help us out. We finished in six hours and it took all that we had. For our team it was a chance for three old friends to reunite, and the fundraising brought us together as much as the race itself. I quit smoking, drinking sodas and cut way back on red meat and sweets all in order to just finish w/out being embarrased. You can see that the oyster has made a bigger impact than some might know. Without the clues, we wouldn't have finished in time and couldn't have completed every leg. Without internet phones or GPS we needed all of the clues we could get. Some people forget that there are folks out there living uncomplicated lives, without the need for the latest in technology. There was a 2 clue limit, and it didn't save us more than twenty minutes combined. Don't change a thing, you guys know exactly what you're doing. That water was COLD, could've done w/out that, but it's just another memory right? Thanks to the volunteers who sacrificed their time on a cool morning and afternoon, you guys made us feel good about what we were doing! Great Job!
